Piazza Carmel's is on Saturday the 28th (see events page.) The CV Rec Center has a Fall Festival on Saturday the 28th (see Rec Center home page.) Old Town has a Day of the Dead Festival (see event page.) Escondido has a Halloween themed Renaissance Faire (see event page.)

Carmel Valley Fall Festival, Oct 28, 2017 from 9am to 1pm. Festival at the CV Community Park, 3777 Townsgate. Includes a pumpkin carving contest for a limited number of participants (must pre-register at www.sdrecconnect.com with code 45012). The Carmel Valley Library presents: MALVYN LAI, PIANO. October’s free family music program sponsored by the Friends of the Carmel Valley Library will be held on October, 11 at 7:00 PM in the library’s community room. Award winning, 12 year old pianist Malvyn Lai will present a program of works by Bach, Beethoven, Liszt, and Chopin. Since age 5, Malvyn has studied with Dr. Irina Bendetsky. At age 9, he performed his first public solo recital which was featured by Fox 5 San Diego evening news. He debuted as soloist with the Kostroma Symphony Orchestra in Russia and has gone on to perform locally with the Inland Valley Symphony, Temecula Valley Symphony, the Grossmont Symphony Orchestra. His national and international concerts have taken him to New York, Hungary, and Poland.
The Carmel Valley Planning Board's Landscape Maintenance Subcommittee will discuss options for possible tree removal in the powerline corridor near the Bay Club (or, "PAC"). SDG&E has determined that a number of trees pose a danger to the adjacent powerlines, and would like community input. Meeting is on Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at 4:30 PM at the Carmel Valley Recreation Center on Townsgate. See the Agenda for the meeting.
On Saturday, October 14, 2017, 10:00 am to 3:00 pm, the California Native Plant Society-San Diego presents: OCTOBER NATIVE PLANT SALE IN BALBOA PARK. This California native plant sale will be in the Balboa Park’s Theater Courtyard between the Casa Del Prado Theater and Casa Del Prado and across from the West entrance of the San Diego Natural History Museum. The Carmel Valley Community Planning Board (CVCPB) will hold it's regular monthly meeting on Thursday, Sept 28, 2017 from 7:00 to 11:00 pm at the Carmel Valley Library, 3919 Townsgate Drive. The Art Glass Guild will be hosting their 2017 Spring Patio Show and Sale. This is a wonderful event to view beautiful art glass created by local artists and to enjoy a day out with family and friends. You will see more than thirty juried Artists exhibiting their creations as you stroll the patio in Spanish Village. There will be entertainment for all including: live music, demonstrations featuring torch-work, and glass cutting as well as an area for children & adults alike to create their own unique mosaic art piece to take home.
