Residential Burglaries and Door-to-Door Salespeople

I don't know if this is related to the recent string of burglaries in the area, but something to be aware of. Note that our local police non-emergency number is 858-484-3154 (this type of report is NOT an emergency, unless you feel threatened or see a burglary in progress.)

The La Jolla, Bird Rock Neighborhood Watch reports: In the past few days, the Bird Rock Community Council received 5 compliants about solicitors in our neighborhood. At the January meeting with the police, we were told that these door to door sales people are CASING are homes. Please call the police to make a report... The police are asking that we call them.

Door to door sales

In the past week there are 3 sales person (that I know of) knocking on my door. Trying to sell chocolate candy and one of them borrow phone to call someone to pick her up. I live in Pacific Highlands Ranch - Portico.
